Mel has been a midwife for 10 years, working as a Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) in tertiary settings and locuming in different locations throughout New Zealand.

She loves working together with women and their families…supporting them to make informed choices about their pregnancy, labour and postnatal care. She loves supporting all women – those who experience straightforward low risk pregnancies, and also women who have more complex, high risk experiences.

She feels privileged to work in her role, and loves that she gets to work accompany women at such a transformative life changing time in their lives.
