Hypnosis is a state of consciousness in which a person is open to accept suggestions. It is a natural state into which we all go every day, like when we day-dream or just before falling asleep.
In a hypnotherapy session, client and practitioner agree on the changes the client wants to see in their emotions, beliefs, state of physical health or behaviour, and the practitioner delivers effective suggestions to produce results.
People can also learn self-hypnosis to help relieve symptoms, regulate emotions and overcome stress. Hypnosis can be used as a stand alone therapy to trigger healing at a subconscious level, or can be used alongside medical or alternative treatments without the concern of drug interactions or side effects.
