ABOUT PSYCH-K™

Your beliefs, mostly subconscious, establish the limits of what you can achieve and enjoy in life. If you believe that your hard work will never pay off, you will be poor all your life and if you believe that cancer will kill you, you can be sure that it will. “If you believe you can or if you believe you can’t…you’re right!” said Henry Ford.

With Psych-K™, you can rewrite undesirable belief patterns in a simple, quick and non-threatening manner so that you can live up to your full potential.

I first heard about Psych-K™ during a conference with Dr. Bruce Lipton PhD, a world-known cellular biologist. Dr. Lipton produced breakthrough studies more than twenty years ago, which revealed that the cell membrane was covered with receptors and that the environment, operating through these receptors, controlled the behaviour and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, which ran counter to the established scientific view that life is controlled by the genes, presaged one of today’s most important fields of study, the science of epigenetics.

This new approach to cell biology provides the mechanisms by which the mind controls bodily functions and behaviour. If we can imagine our “thoughts” or “emotions” as a flow of neurotransmitters in our body, attaching to different cell receptors that then trigger the activation of certain genes, we can understand how our perceptions affect our health and our capacity to react to the environment. The problem is, modern neurophysiology has determined that 98 to 99% of our mental processing at any given time takes place at a subconscious level, and that’s exactly where beliefs reside from the time we first acquire them, usually in childhood.

“There is nothing we can do then, unless we find a way to change subconcious belief patterns…” I said to Dr. Lipton. He then told me about Psych-K™, a technique he had encountered around fifteen years before that had completely changed his life. If you read of my background as a medical doctor, you will realise that I have a very precise, scientific mind, and I am not into what I call “tree hugging” or “aura fluffing”. But I decided that if a man as intelligent and credible as Dr. Lipton believed that Psych-K™ worked, I had to give it a try.

I was lucky to train in Psych-K™ with Rob Williams, the originator of the technique, who turned out to be a well groomed, goal-oriented, ex-business man…just my kind of teacher. At first sceptic, I was soon astounded by the results of my first “balance” and the magic has never stopped since. I live now in a world of infinite possibilities, where all I have to do is clarify my intentions to create the reality I want.

My clients so far have resolved panic attacks, long-standing depression, phobias, post –traumatic stress disorder, relationship issues, lack of confidence, sleep disturbances and more. And since combining it with BodyTalk, Psych-K™ has become instrumental in overcoming physical ailments too.

“I’m the first to admit that I was a bit of sceptic before and during the Psych-K sessions I’ve had with Morella. But the ‘coincidence’ of the impact of the last session is hard to believe. I went to Morella in December to work on a goal around having an enjoyable – even spectacular birth. I’d been suffering from some apprehension about the birth and despite lots of meditation and yoga was still feeling a bit paranoid. (This could have been related to post partum haemorrhaging I’d experienced first time round). We crammed a few bizarre things into the session (like being reborn!) and also included some visualisation describing what the birth would be like. We had a bit of a laugh at this point as Morella encouraged me to go all out. The words we wrote down were about….an enjoyable birth, easy labour most of it at home, intimate delivery just with my husband pulling baby out and my midwife exclaiming “wow! that was the most incredible birth of the year!”. When Morella got me to describe sights and feelings I talked about excitement, flashes of silver fireworks, big bangs. Although my due date was 31st Jan I was thinking – yeah right this isn’t plausible at all. Incredibly my daughter Estelle was ‘delivered’ by dad and midwife Lee at 2 minutes past midnight 1st Jan at National Women’s accompanied by the fireworks exploding over the Sky Tower. We have a video of me cuddling Estelle with the cord still attached watching the end of the fireworks from the birthing suite while Lee says pretty much the words we’d predicted. The only down side was the labour being so fast and staying in the bath at home too long – leaving our run to the hospital a tad late as we had to run some red lights to get off K Road in the New Year chaos to make it the hospital with 15 minutes to spare!
I’ve got a psychology background and consult in the area of leadership development of which a big part is how habitual thoughts impact on behaviour, mind states and well being. That’s reinforced my belief about how challenging it is to retrain the mind and change thoughts and behaviours at a conscious level – let alone the subconscious. I’ve been blown away by the results from Psych-K …although I still think the whole thing is bizarre I’ll be back when I think I need some help getting my subconscious back in line.”
